Beidi Wang

Beidi Wang is a writer-director based in Los Angeles and Beijing. Her latest short film, Scorching, was selected for Generation 14+ at the Berlinale, Fantasia, Palm Springs, Shanghai International Film Festival, FIRST, Vienna Shorts, Leeds, and major festivals worldwide. Her USC graduate film, Wax and Wane, received Best Global Short at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, and Best First-Time Female Director and Best Female Short of the Year at Indie Short Fest.

Her narrative works explore the intersection of genre, sensory cinema, memory, and social systems. She likes to place her protagonist in an environment larger than herself.
