Beidi Wang
Beidi Wang is a writer-director based in Los Angeles and Beijing. Her latest short film, Scorching, was selected for the Generation 14plus of the Berlinale, and Fantasia, Palm Springs, Shanghai International Film Festival, FIRST, Vienna Shorts, Leeds and major festivals worldwide. Her USC graduate film, Wax and Wane, used to receive Best Global Short at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, and Best First-Time Female Director, Best Female Short of the Year at Indie Short Fest.
Her narrative works explore the intersection of genre, sensory cinema, memory, and social systems. She likes to put her protagonist into an environment bigger than her.
